I was inspired to put my Spotify playlists on my website after I was, frankly, laughed off Instagram for sharing my lesbian disaster playlist “Songs I’d Brush Her Hair To,” a masterpiece I created in 2025 after seeing a woman’s hair and deciding I wanted to brush it while Hozier played nearby. Spiritually sound. Probably in the DSM somewhere under “girl saw blonde.”

I started making playlists in 2024 after converting to Spotify from Apple Music for, shockingly, a girl. She had green eyes, she was an Aquarius, and she had a several-hour cover playlist, which I mistook for evidence that she was the coolest person alive. Naturally, we did not work out, because she was not over her ex, which is so gay it should come with a punch card. But she did get me into making playlists like a good lesbian, and the skill has since been added to my many talents, right between writing, overthinking, and romanticizing getting ghosted. I did, of course, make a better cover playlist than hers. This is not petty. This is archival truth.

Listed below are my playlists in reverse chronological order, including the immortal “Songs I’d Brush Her Hair To.” I stand behind it. I stood behind it then. I stand behind it now. Some people see beautiful hair and move on with their lives. I build infrastructure.

Anyway, my playlists are yours now as much as they are mine. Please use them irresponsibly. Brush someone’s hair to Hozier if you must, but I am not legally responsible for whatever happens to your nervous system afterward.

Missy
